it's time.

i think its finally time for me to start updating my blog based on personal events in my life. im just afraid it wont be that interesting. i lead a drama free life. but i'll try to spice it up, just for my blog's sake. or maybe i'll just make up stuff so that it seems like im a lot more interesting than i actually am. no, thats not authentic. im gonna be real...

one is the magic number.

all i want is to find a friend who is as excited about hanging with me as i am about hanging with him/her. ive always wanted an ace boon coon. never really had one. well, not since i went to high school. (middle school - i had a whole group of close friends) and just when i finally think i've found one, i am proven wrong. this is a recurring issue in my life, which undoubtedly brings me to the conclusion that i am meant to be alone. a loner. all by myself. and as pitiful as it sounds, i am not seeking pity. i dont want anyone to feel sorry for me. it's absolutely alright. i'll live my life doing what i want to do, when i want to do it, alone. im sure there is one issue that i will encounter, though. i've always been a very social person; i like talking and communicating with others. i cant do that if im alone, right? well, with sacrifice there is reward. i wont have anymore days like this where the people i expect to call and say, "let's hang out," dont call, and im left feeling nervous and upset because someone didnt invite me somewhere. if i stop expecting so much from people, i wont be disappointed time and time again, and thererfore, the stressful days of wondering why i wasnt invited wont occur anymore.

Haunted - Evaluation

So, I received virtually no feedback from the post of my video entitled, "Haunted," so this evaluation is coming straight from me. I'll start off by mentioning that it was the first video that I ever produced and directed on my own. But no time for excuses. The video is...it's unappealing. There are some essential elements missing. I need to take more time developing it, instead of rushing the production to make a deadline. So, I'm going back to the drawing board. I'm going to take what I've learned in producing the first video to make the second one 10x better (for everyone's sake). And the rest of the project will be coming soon, too! Like I said, I'm going to take my time reproducing "Haunted," but I will be premiering the video for another poem very shortly. Stay tuned.

On This Day...

On this day, April 1, in 1700 (309 years ago), the tradition of April Fool's Day began to be popularized by English pranksters. The actual origin of April Fool's Day, also known as All Fool's Day, is unknown, but some historians believe that the tradition dates back to the 16th century. Since then the tradition has become very popular all over the world. People everywhere celebrate by playing pranks on one another. Even news outlets play pranks on viewers and readers by reporting false news stories! It's a very fun tradition so let's celebrate!

Also, on this day, Happy Pappy, the first TV variety show starring an African American cast aired for the first time. Ray Grant starred as master of ceremonies.

On This Day...

On this day, March 9, in 1959 (50 years ago), the first Barbie doll made its debut. Barbie made her debut at the American toy fair in New York City. Produced by Ruth Handler, co-founder of Mattel, Inc., the first Barbie doll stood 11 inches tall and was the first doll with adult features for children. Handler noticed that her daughter had grown bored with her baby dolls and had more fun playing make believe with paper dolls modeled after women. She designed a doll and named it after her daughter, Barbara, and Barbie was born!

Remember This?

Jazzy J and Winky. Remember this lovely, yet, unofficial couple? Well, word is they've gone their separate ways. No bad blood between them, though. The decision was amicable. The two are currently residing in separate corners of the country, each doing his/her own thing. According to sources close to the couple the pursuit of a relationship for either one would be difficult under the current circumstances. The source also added that it was best for the two to part ways while on good terms, but a reunion is hopeful among friends.  We'll keep you posted.

What about these two? Amber Glenn and Russell Walker. Good news! They are still going strong! What a relief! They make an awfully good couple. Seems like they've found the right balance. They've been together for almost an entire year, and when they make it there, we'll celebrate!

Spilled Milk is BACK!!!

On This Day...

On this day, February 5, in 1919 (90 years ago), Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, and D.W. Griffith launched the United Artists Corporation. They were the leading film artist of their era. These partners established the company ensure complete creative freedom in their work and agreed to share full financial and artistic control. United Artists was the first movie studio to be controlled by artist, rather than businessmen.

Spotted - Ice Skating?

Actor Greg White was spotted ice skating last weekend. Word is, he's pretty good at it. Looks like he was having fun and apparently trying to be low key. Whatever, he looks warm in his sweats!

Socialite Alert! The girls have been spotted again! Tonight's line-up: Amber Glenn, TJ, Brittany Tarrant, Shannon Artis, Amalia and Alisa Ehrmann, Ashley Sydnor, Racquel Tillman, Princess Scott and Brittany Fleet. This time there were more to the crowd, but as they say, the more, the merrier! No word as to where the girl were going on this cold winter night last weekend, but the paps were out, capturing pictures of them in their travels.

The Girls from the back

Racquel sees the Paparazzi!

They always seem to have something on the agenda and they always seem to be having fun. Many people think that membership to hang with this group of ladies is exclusive, but sources close to the group say that all of the girls are open and inviting and will show anyone a good time. I can dig it.

On This Day...

On this day, January 21, in 1793 (216 years ago), King Louis XVI of France was executed. Although Louis XVI openly accepted the French Revolution, he resisted the advice of constitutional monarchists who sought to reform the monarchy in order to save it. In November of 1792 evidence of his counterrevolutionary relationship with Austria and other foreign nations was discovered and he was put on trial for treason by the National Convention. In January 1793 Louis XVI was convicted and sentenced to death by a small majority. On January 21 he walked abidingly to the guillotine and was executed. His queen, Marie Antoinette was sentenced to the same death 9 months later.

Spotted: TJ and Maya

TJ and her close friend, Maya Robinson, were spotted out at dinner earlier this week. They were catching up because apparently they hadn't seen each other in a while. From the looks of it, they enjoyed themselves. They look nice.

Check This Out!

Check this out: twitter.com
If you haven't heard about it, you should get used to it because I'm sure it'll be the next big thing. Yes, it is another social website, but it's not as elaborate or as complicated as myspace.com or facebook.com. In fact, it's so simple, a 7 year old could probably operate it. Twitter is simply a way for the people that are important to you to know what you are doing in between all of the, well, important stuff. It's like updating your Facebook status, or the original intent of such. As where Facebook statuses have become a portal for people to express opinions and feelings about what is happening in their lives, Twitter strives to stay away from that by allowing users to ask and answer the ever so common question, "What are you doing?" It may seem irrelevant in the grand scheme of social networking, but it could probably have some very practical uses. With twitter.com you will know when your friends and family are on the phone, or walking the dog, or taking a nap. It's efficient and it could save time. You could log onto Twitter, read that your best friend is in an important meeting, and decide to save your phone call about a new macaroni recipe until later. Sounds good, right? You might be thinking, "Well, I'm not always near a computer to check twitter.com statuses, so it's a no-go for me." Wrong! That's already been taken care of. Like so many other social sites, twitter.com has a mobile application that is even more easy to operate than the website itself. So check out twitter.com today, make a profile so that you can tell all of your friends that you had one first, and breathe easy knowing that you'll never have to hear the question, "What are you doing", ever again.

Peep This!

Here we go again!!! Ok. I don't need anymore proof. Jazzy J and Winky have been spotted together again! This time they seem to be rounding second base. Sources close to them still say they are "just friends" and I'm not one to accuse anyone of lying, but it does seem like they are more than just friends. It's obvious. Just peep the pics!

I'm gonna keep you updated on this budding romance. As the details come out, I'll be sure to spill the milk.

On this day, January 19, in 1953 (56 years ago), Episode #56 of I Love Lucy, "Lucy Goes to the Hospital," aired for the first time. In this episode Lucy Ricardo, played by Lucille Ball, and Ricky Ricardo, played by Lucille's real life husband Desi Arnaz,  welcomed their son, Little Ricky. This episode was one of the most popular in television history. It was one of the first American television programs to deal with the issue of sex, a taboo subject in conservative 1950s America, when most married couples weren't even shown sharing the same bed. 44 million viewers (72% of all U.S. homes with a television) tuned in, while only 29 million tuned in for President Dwight D. Eisenhower's inauguration the previous night.

I Love Lucy  debuted in 1951 and quickly shot to the top of the charts, remaining at the top of the ratings for 4 of its 6 years on television. Prior to I Love Lucy, Lucille Ball performed on a radio show called My Favorite Husband. CBS proposed that she start a television show and Ball agreed as long as her husband, Desi Arnaz, could co-star. After some reluctancy the show began filming. The couple's production company, Desilu, won rights to produce the show and negotiated 100% ownership, making Ball and Arnaz television's first millionaires.

Hottie Alert!

Maybe she's sexy because she's unattainable. Maybe she's sexy because she's independent. Maybe she's sexy because she has impeccable taste...or maybe she's sexy because she just is. Amber Glenn is beautiful, smart, stylish, talented, and, in many ways, perfect. That's what makes her hott! It may be impossible to list all of the reasons why she is hot, but the fact remains, the girl has got it goin' on!!! Many guys find her irresistible because she's unattainable (yes, she's taken.), but most wouldn't think twice about taking the opportunity if she was still available. She just has everything a guy could want in a girl, plus everything a girl could want for herself. And uhhh, what could be more desirable than a girl who has it all?
