On this day, January 9, in 1894 (115 years ago), the first motion picture was copyrighted. William Kennedy Laurie Dickson  copyrighted the film, which feature 47 images of a man sneezing! I would love to see that! 

Also on this day, January 9, in 1972 (37 years ago) the 33 game winning streak of the Los Angeles Lakers came to an end. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 120 to 104 victory over Wilt Chamberlain and the Lakers. This defeat broke the Lakers' 33 game winning spree, which is the longest winning streak of any team in American professional sports!
